Full-service custom metal fabrication & manufacturing shop
This client’s HDPV2 Gate was installed in March 2005. Four months later, it was removed for inspection. They found there was virtually no wear to the valve or its main seals.
Before contacting Vortex, this client had used alternative iris valves from two other industrial equipment manufacturers and had not been comfortable with either company’s pricing or valve mechanics.
Carbon is used in the liquid handling process to filter impurities out of the flavors. As fresh carbon is introduced, the used (spent) carbon is extracted from the filters through a press.
Control fine material particulate as various types of tea leaves are fed into a blending drum.
Previously, the client was using a flap diverter to divert a fragrance ingredient. The fragrance itself is quite sticky and would build up in the diverter and other system components.
Dynamic Bulk Systems, Inc. (DBS) – a Vortex equipment representative located in Fenton, Missouri, USA – provides one of the world’s leading pasta producers with bulk material handling solutions.
Convey materials through a vacuum system toward two collection points. The client’s previous equipment would seize up when handling long strips of paper.
Convey various grain meals out of 3 storage silos. Each silo is equipped with a screw conveyor. At the end of each conveyor run, the grain meals are discharged into a common vacuum transport system.
The client is routing 2 in | 50 mm pieces of abrasive alloy. This Vortex Aggregate Diverter is specifically designed to address abrasion and material impact.
Multiple gates were ordered and are being used to meter different colors of sand onto a conveyor belt before they are transported to a blending process.
In addition to a superior material seal across the gate and to atmosphere, the Clear Action Gate “self cleans” its seals on the closing stroke.
The client consulted an equipment supplier to discuss their system for weighing individual ingredients. In their process, operators were manually opening and emptying 50 lb bags into holding bins.
After rebuilding a silo, the end user sourced this gate to feed powdered adipic acid into a screw conveyor below. Powdered adipic acid is used in the production of nylon.
The Vortex Flex Tube Diverter is installed vertically to convey materials from one source toward three destinations.
In 2017, Vortex completed a large project with an industrial sand manufacturer to construct a new sand processing facility.
The diverters are handling end cuts and off-spec rolls created during the paper product manufacturing process. The majority of rolls are conveyed vertically through the “straight-through” channel.
The Vortex® Titan Slide Gate™ (TSG) was identified as the ideal solution for this application. The TSG is designed for handling heavy-duty, abrasive dry materials in gravity flow applications.
The client sourced two Vortex Loading Spouts to interface the discharge of each bulk bag unloader with the loading port of each ball mill.
