Published
Client:
Sand supplier – Central USA
Quantity:
Size:
8 in | 205 mm, 75 lb | 35 kg
Application:
Control flow out of holding bins, into open trucks below.

Features:

  • Blade constructed from 400 Brinell Hardness Number (BHN) abrasion-resistant steel.
  • Return pan constructed from carbon steel.

Results:

These gates were installed in spring 2007. To date, no maintenance has been performed on any of the gates.

A return pan is a fabricated metal transition on the outlet side of the gate. It is angled to create an inverted “ramp” ” – beginning narrow at the back of the gate and gradually steepening as it approaches the gate’s opening. As materials migrate into the bonnet area, rather than building up and causing potential actuation issues, they are deposited down onto the return pan and reintroduced into the material flow stream.
