Salina, Kan., USA – Vortex is pleased to announce its plans to increase manufacturing plant size by about 50 percent. The 64,000 square-foot expansion will bring total square footage at the Vortex Headquarters to 185,000 square feet. Construction is expected to begin in April and be completed by year's end.
Vortex built and occupied its existing headquarters in 2006. Since then, the company has grown its workforce by 33 percent. Currently, Vortex employs 164 people at its Salina facility.
"We are really out of room for future growth," explained Jeff Thompson, chief executive officer (CEO) & president at Vortex. "The purpose of this expansion is to make room and allow for that future growth."
The expansion will add approximately 48,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and 16,000 square feet for offices and conference rooms.
The expansion will allow Vortex to accommodate high growth potential, with several new products and new markets on the horizon, as it relates to dry bulk processing. Just last year, Vortex introduced its Titan Series product line, targeting heavy-duty and/or abrasive applications, such as mining, minerals, aggregates and more. Vortex also recently acquired a business that produces loadout equipment for loading dry bulk materials into trucks, rail cars, barges and stockpiling. Vortex also has presence worldwide, with sales offices in Michigan, USA; the United Kingdom; Switzerland; Mexico; and China.
