Loading spouts have increased in use for dry bulk material handling in open trucks, stockpiles, railcars, tank vehicles, barges and ships.
Two openings may be independently actuated. The common ledge between the openings is protected by abrasion-resistant steel.
Since 2007, Vortex has been providing a U.S. plastics company with solutions for transporting plastic materials throughout their production facility.
Wetted parts are 3/4 in. (19 mm) thick. Wetted parts contain 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) thick, abrasion-resistant liners constructed from chromium carbide. Purpose of liners is to address material abrasiveness.
There are many methods currently used across industries to reduce dust emissions. The following are the most common practices used in manufacturing processes today.
The Vortex Orifice Gate is specifically engineered to handle dry bulk solids in gravity flow, dilute phase, or vacuum conveying systems with pressures up to 15 psig (1 barg) depending on size.
The spout is set up to address environmental dust pollution from open truck loading.
In this case, the Vortex pivoting chute diverter is being used as a “splitter” diverter – allowing material to flow from one source to two destinations at the same time.
A Vortex Aero-Slide Conveyor transports material into an interior discharge tube that exists in the connecting spool piece. The action of the filter unit does not affect material flow into the spout.
